Engaging in the Challenges of the World

A pillar of our mission is to prepare and equip students to engage in the challenges of the world. Once students enter college – sometimes even before – they begin to explore the questions of what courses they want to take, what major they want to focus on, and what degree they want to walk away with. Students spend hours considering what careers, passions, internships, fields to pursue, and how their studies and degrees might help them get there.

Experiential Tour - Ecuador Engineering Trip

In March of 2024, a group of 12 engineering students and two engineering faculty from Anderson University traveled to Misahaullí, Ecuador to partner with Jungle Kids for Christ on their Antioch Christian Academy (ACA) campus to develop a backup water supply system.

This trip provided students with an amazing opportunity to apply engineering processes and tools to a real-world project, work with external clients, and grow in cross-cultural understanding. Most importantly, students were able to glorify God in their work and to be the hands and feet of Jesus as they loved their neighbor as themselves.

A Peek Into Our Experiential Tours Dept.

Our Experiential Tours Department organized two events in Quito, Ecuador. The first event was an in-person training for current and future hosts who lead our short-term tours. The second event was a partner appreciation dinner for all the organizations that come alongside us to provide incredible hands-on experience for the students and professors participating in one or more of our Living & Learning offerings.
