Who Are Experiential Tours For?

Experiential Tours with Living & Learning International are designed to provide a stress-free solution to planning and coordinating international and domestic educational or service-focused group travel. Whether you're faculty at a college or university, a coach of a sports team, a pastor of a church, or a high school educator, our team has itineraries and options for you! We work directly with you to provide all-inclusive tours for a wide variety of academic disciplines and service opportunities worldwide.

Value of Faculty Led Tours

Imagine a classroom that enhances a student’s cross-cultural understanding, allows them to engage with diversity, and deepens their global mindset. Our experiential tours allow faculty to teach their course abroad in a setting that perfectly complements their course material. Studying abroad is a high-impact practice that holds invaluable worth for a student’s learning academically, socially, and spiritually.

There is no deeper way to present course material than to engage the five senses in all aspects of learning. Above all, the greatest part of a faculty-led experiential tour is that students get to travel with you! In-context instruction will revolutionize the manner students retain course material and, in turn, the way you teach.

How Does This Work?

Teams who travel with L&LI Experiential Tours receive all logistics, a dedicated team host, and detailed itineraries to ensure relevant hands-on learning. Using a faith-based approach, we work on all in-land logistics so you don’t have to, giving you the autonomy to teach your course or lead your team abroad and providing you more time to invest in your students, connect with your group, and enjoy the trip!

Here's What People Are Saying

Patricia Waltman MA, CNL, RN is a Nursing faculty member at Augustana University. For over five years, she and her department have partnered with our Experiential Tours team in coordination with a Nursing Leadership course she teaches at the university. Here's what she said about the trips she and her nursing students have taken to Ecuador.

Living & Learning International has consistently coordinated the logistics for our time in Ecuador from the moment we arrive until we depart; the planning and implementation of the activities are seamless. L&LI staff have arranged the course and clinical student learning opportunities that are necessary for the requirements of the Nursing Leadership course reliably year after year. Every year I hear from the students that this opportunity is 'life changing' or 'an experience that will stay with me throughout my nursing career.' Students not only gain academic preparation in nursing, they gain experiential and spiritual opportunit[ies]. I know that the immersion experience and course would not be successful without the L&LI team's dedication to planning and coordinating our experience.

Noah LaBelle, an engineering student at Anderson University, left the country for the first time to learn and gain experience abroad with L&LI Experiential Tours!

It was one of the best experiences of my life. It opened my eyes to how big the world is and how big our God is. Experiencing another culture was fascinating and the food was incredible. One of my favorite things we did was when we went to a village up in the mountains and played with the kids and shared a meal with a family. Overall, this was a life-changing experience that I will never forget, and not many people can say they have hugged an elephant!
