Statement of Faith

It is to be noted that no grouping of words can fully express all that might be said as to our convictions and doctrinal position. However, as a general and comprehensive combination of the principal factors for which Living & Learning International stands, the following expresses our statement of faith.

  • We Believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Gen. 1:1-26; Mt. 28:19; Jn. 1:1-3; Acts 5:3-4; Rom. 1:20; 2 Cor. 13:14; Eph. 4:5-6)

  • We Believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born to the Virgin Mary, and is fully God and fully man. (Mt. 1:18-25; Lk. 1:26-38; Rom. 9:5; Titus 2:13)

  • We Believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, without error in its original Manuscripts. The Bible is our standard and pattern authority in faith and practice. (Isa. 40:8; Mt. 5:18, 24:35; 2 Tim. 3:16; Heb. 4:12; 2 Pet. 1:20-21)

  • We Believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God, and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and become guilty sinners in thought, word and deed.(Gen. 1:26-27, 3:1-24; Rom. 3:25, 5:12-18; 1 Jn. 1:8)

  • We Believe that the Lord Jesus died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; that He bodily rose victorious from the grave on the third day; and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood. (Mt. 20:28, 28:6; Jn. 3:16; Rom. 3:24-26, 5:1, 10:9; 1 Cor. 15:3, 14; 2 Cor. 5:21; Eph: 1:7; 1 Jn. 2:2)

  • We Believe the personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:11; 1 Thess. 4:16-17)

  • We Believe that all people are separated from God by sin, but that in Christ our sin can be wiped out and we can be justified and made righteous in God’s eyes. Salvation is offered as a free gift to all those who receive the gift by faith, which responds in repentance, public confession that Jesus Christ is God’s son and their Savior, and baptism.(Mt. 8:36-40; Mt. 28:18-20; Jn. 1:12-13, 3:3-5; Acts 2:28-41; 10:47; 18:8; Rom. 6:3-5; Eph. 2:8-9;l James 1:18; 1 Pet. 1:23)

  • We Believe that while without faith it is impossible to please God, but that the possession of faith does not ensure health or prosperity. (Lk. 9:22-27; 2 Cor. 11:23-31, 12:7-10; Phil. 1:29-30; 2 Tim. 3:8-12; Heb 11:6, 32-40)

  • We Believe the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting joy of the saved and the everlasting separation from God of the lost. (Mt. 25-31; Jn. 5:28-29; 1 Cor. 15:12-57; 2 Cor. 5:10; Rev. 20:4-6, 11-15)

  • We Believe that all Christians are indwelt by the Holy Spirit at the point of salvation. The filling of the Holy spirit is meant to be a continuous experience for the believer through submission to His controlling authority and power. (Jn. 14:16, 15:5; Rom. 6:3-5, 8:9-11; 1 Cor. 12:13; Eph 5:15-21)

  • We Believe that the body of Christ, the church, is composed of interdependent members who are born again, each having received from the Holy Spirit gifts which are to be exercised to glorify God and edify the church. (Rom. 12:4-8; 1 Cor. 12:12-13; Eph. 2:14-20, 4-16)

  • In view of Christs’ last command (Matthew 28:19, 20) and recognizing the lost condition of all those who fail to accept the gospel message (John 3:18, 36), we believe in the urgency of every Christians’ responding to the Great Commission of Christ. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Mt. 28:19,20) “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
