Netherlands | Social Work/Psychology

In the Netherlands, students will engage with a variety of at-risk populations including refugees, impoverished communities, and victims of prostitution. The team will learn about the local culture while learning from and serving alongside partner organizations in Amsterdam. In partnership with a local church, the team will work with refugees from all over the world, serve impoverished people groups, and reach their communities through multiple church services, a weekly clothing drive, food bank distribution, after-school tutoring and dance classes, and even a safe home of their church. The team will also work alongside an organization based in the Red Light District (RLD) that builds relationships with women to come out of prostitution. Time with this organization will include an orientation of the RLD, meetings with their social workers and journalists, and building relationships with the women in the windows. Excursions on this itinerary include a bike tour, canal tour, Anne Frank House, and the Van Gogh Museum.
