Living and Learning International (L&LI) is a faith-based study abroad provider. We work with 50+ institutions across the United States in semester and short-term study abroad programs. L&LI Experiential Tours collaborates with colleges/universities, high schools, churches, and organizations around the world to design mission and academically-focused programs. Experiential Tours typically range from 1-4 weeks with anywhere from 8 to 50 travelers. L&LI customizes the tour experience to fit the interests and desires of each group. Examples of the program focus include nursing, business, biology, medical missions, and more. It is the academic and service learning customization of these programs that makes L&LI Experiential Tours so unique.

Position Description

The Experiential Tours Account Manager is a full-time, fast-paced, and highly collaborative position that serves as a key driver of sales growth and program development within the Experiential Tours division. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Experiential Tours, Strategy & Growth, this individual will play a central role in cultivating prospective clients, developing customized program proposals, generating quotations, and guiding groups through the sales process from inquiry to confirmation. The Account Manager serves as a trusted partner to institutional leaders, faculty, pastors, and organizational representatives seeking to develop impactful international experiences. This position requires a strategic thinker who is highly organized, proactive, solutions-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate thrives in a remote environment, demonstrates initiative without constant supervision, and possesses a strong "yes, let's find a way" attitude. This individual should be equally comfortable building relationships, designing creative itineraries, managing details, and contributing ideas that support departmental growth and innovation. The role requires exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service throughout the sales and planning process. The role will include travel for 15-20% of the year.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with prospective and existing clients including universities, high schools, churches, and organizations.

  • Partner with the Executive Director to identify new business opportunities and support departmental growth initiatives.

  • Generate and qualify leads through outreach, networking, conferences, referrals, and strategic follow-up.

  • Conduct discovery conversations with prospective clients to understand program goals, learning objectives, and logistical needs.

  • Design customized program itineraries that align with client objectives, budget parameters, and organizational standards.

  • Develop detailed program proposals, pricing estimates, and quotations for prospective groups.

  • Manage the sales pipeline and maintain accurate records within CRM systems and internal tracking tools.

  • Guide prospective clients through the sales process from initial inquiry through signed agreement and program confirmation.

  • Coordinate closely with Operations and Regional Program Managers to ensure smooth transition from sales to program execution.

  • Assist with conference participation, faculty trainings, webinars, vision trips, and promotional events.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities within experiential education and mission travel.

  • Contribute ideas and recommendations that improve systems, processes, efficiency, and customer experience.

  • Support departmental goals and assist team members during high-volume planning seasons.

  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed to support relationship-building, recruitment efforts, and program leadership.

Qualifications & Expectations

Required

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in study abroad, educational travel, sales, account management, or a related field.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate effectively with a team.

  • Self-starter with initiative, strategic thinking, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

  • Demonstrated Christian faith and cross-cultural experience.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Prefered

  • Master's degree.

  • Experience in study abroad, mission travel, or experiential education.

  • Sales, business development, or program development experience.
