Who You Are

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Christ follower with at least three years of student life experience to join our team. This individual must have a strong commitment to discipleship, a heart for serving others, and a desire to invest in the growth of students.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is eager to make a long-term impact in the lives of students, willing to relocate to Quito, Ecuador. This role requires someone who is enthusiastic about building relationships, mentoring, and coaching students through their abroad experience.

As part of our team, you will be responsible for leading student life initiatives, discipling students, and more. The ability to communicate and connect with students from diverse backgrounds is important.

The Role

Oversee Student Life operations - Reporting to the Student Life Director

  • Assist Student Life Director with training new Resident Coordinators (RCs) on protocol, duties and expectations, including the creation and execution of RC manual, and other training materials

  • Supervise RCs in student activity planning, execution, and attendance

  • Organize all transportation for student arrival and departure

  • Aid in the administration of student life’s response(s) to student needs, educate and help in providing local health resources

  • Train RCs on health protocols, clinic appointments and emergency services

  • Budget and account for all funds given for student activities and provide a financial report to the Program Director at the end of the month

  • Assure the clean, healthy, and safe living environment prior to students’ arrival & post students’ departure, including overseeing inventory and hand-offs, check-in, and check-out

  • Manage all phone chips and program phones and ensure that all students have access to a working phone at all times in the semester, in conjunction with RCs

  • Ensure that all apartment maintenance is attended to in a timely manner and coordinate delivery of maintenance tasks by maintenance providers

  • Manage delivery of semester long projects, such as the student photobooks, bookmarks and photo drive

Event Planning and Operations - Reporting to the Program Director

  • Coordinate the schedule, logistics, and reservations for Visitor Week

  • Coordinate the schedule, logistics and reservations for Jungle Experiential Trip

  • Oversee Ecuador Summer Program including Student Activities, Internships and Homestays

Oversee Finances

  • Input all finance receipts into budget and collaborate with YouthWorld finance staff to ensure proper tax protocol and procedures are followed

  • Provide routine budget reports to Program Director to ensure delivery of a balanced budget to the Program Director

All Staff

  • Plan and attend L&LI staff meetings weekly and YouthWorld meetings biweekly

  • Budget and account for all funds given for discipleship meetings

  • Speak into students’ lives and listen with a holistic development perspective

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Experience working in:

    • Student Affairs

    • Ministry

    • Event Planning

    • Cross-cultural settings

  • Ability to effectively explain the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the great commission 

  • Understanding of how to live like Christ and work and live in community with others

  • Has made a confession of faith in Jesus Christ and is consistently pursuing a life in Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit

  • Strong in-person, written, and online communication skills

  • Demonstrated commitment to cultural diversity and equity in the workplace

  • Prior experience working with study abroad programs, or living abroad

  • Direct experience working with university students

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work without direct supervision, and as part of a close-knit team

  • Ability to collaborate with team members to identify, establish, and promote best practices

  • Passion for and dedication to promoting the vision, mission and values of Living and Learning
