  • "It's been a great time to be together, to be able to share effective practice, to be able to strengthen community so that we are equipped and we are connected to be able to continue to do this work that God has called us to do, helping students have transformational experiences abroad."

    Ryan T. Hartwig, PhD
Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
    Vanguard University

  • "There's no question that there are a lot of challenges facing Christian higher ed. The conversations that are happening in this room are really important for professionalization in the field, but most importantly, they're about discipleship and the unique value proposition that Christian study abroad offers to the larger field."

    Amanda Kaminski, PhD
Associate Professor, Social Innovations & Social Entrepreneurship Program Director; Holder of the Hugo & Georgia Gibson Professorship
    Texas Lutheran University

  • "To have a time where we can come together to discuss issues that are important to us as faith-affiliated institutions in the world of international education. I just love this movement and this collection of folks, this ecosystem that works together to send students out into these powerful transformational learning experiences all around the globe in so many different kinds of ways."

    Mark Barneche
Executive Director for International Education and Study Abroad
    Abilene Christian University

  • "CSAC has been incredible so far. There has already been so many moments of learning that have taught us how to apply theory to practical situations and how to really care for students well in this space that we're in."

    Sara Hernandez
    Enrollment Manager
    Living & Learning International

  • “Thrilled to join the CSAC community and connect with educators doing amazing work around the world! Let’s make getting students abroad easier than ever.”

    Carlo Fabros
    Strategic Partnerships
    Scholartrip

  • “[CSAC is] stepping in to create a space where we can not just share information, but also have fun and to laugh and tell stories, commiserate with one another, and ultimately to continue to foster relationships that are so important in our world.”

    David Martínez, PhD
    Dir. of Study Abroad
    George Fox University

  • “Come to this space even just to be encouraged, to be reminded you're not alone. To be reminded that this work matters and can be done better. And there's always more to learn and you don't have to do that by yourself.”

    Ashley DeMichael
Dir. of Global Programs & Initiatives
    Asbury University

  • “For me, coming here [to CSAC], we've been able to know each other so that we can work well together so that the student gets the best experience that they can.”

    Marilyn Holness, OBE
    Dean of Students
    Roehampton University London

The Christian Study Abroad Conference

The Christian Study Abroad Conference is where like-minded Christ followers in Study Abroad and Christian Higher Education can learn and network together. We recognize that there are phenomenal organizations that serve as leading experts in traditional study abroad such as the Forum on Education Abroad, NAFSA, and Institute of International Education.

Christian colleges, universities, and study abroad providers are well served by these organizations. What is missing, though, is a space for Christians to build community, collaborate, explore the nuances and unique challenges of Christian Study Abroad programming, and discern how scripture can form our thinking around global engagement.

Benefits of Attending

  • Join group discussions and workshops to learn from one another

  • Get actionable insights into semester study abroad, faculty-led programs, and international internships

  • Network with those who work in study abroad offices at Christian colleges and universities (institutions that send students) and those working with Christian study abroad programs and international colleges (programs that receive students)
