Who You Are
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Christ follower with at least three years of student life experience to join our team. This individual must have a strong commitment to discipleship, a heart for serving others, and a desire to invest in the growth of students.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is eager to make a long-term impact in the lives of students, willing to relocate to Quito, Ecuador. This role requires someone who is enthusiastic about building relationships, mentoring, and coaching students through their abroad experience.
As part of our team, you will be responsible for leading student life initiatives, discipling students, and more. The ability to communicate and connect with students from diverse backgrounds is important.

Position Summary
Living and Learning International (L&LI) seeks a passionate follower of Jesus who is committed to the discipleship of others to serve full time as their Resident Director for the Rome, Italy campus. The RD is responsible for assisting the Director of Student Life with all student programming, managing and training staff, life in the convent, and helping to establish culture and rhythms. This position reports directly to the Director of Student Life, and has a secondary reporting line to the LLI Rome Program Director. This position requires participation in program and class excursions. Program excursions, currently include: Pompei, Greece, Florence/Milan. There is an expectation that each staff member participates in 1 or 2 academic excursions per semester.
The Role Includes:
Aid in providing leadership, oversight, and care to the Student Life team in Rome.
Resident Coordinators
Be present and live alongside Resident Coordinators in the convent space
Oversee and coordinate extracurricular activities for students (i.e. Bordos cooking class, ceramics)
Oversee and coordinate convent logistics (maintenance, convent relationship, etc)
Oversee all student travel forms
Manage the student life budget for the semester program
Provide and lead opportunities for students to get involved in neighborhood service/partnership.
Assist, as requested, by LLI Rome leadership with escalated student issues/concerns including, but not limited to:
Mental/physical health
Roommate conflict
Homesickness
Maintenance frustration
Safety
Co-Lead with Director of Student Life
Assisting with RC Visa Process
Student Life Meetings
Student Life Training
Resident Coordinator hiring
Room Assignments & Small Group Assignments
In-country crises (as needed)
Wellness Plan creation and implementation
Accident and/or crime incidents (as needed)
In collaboration with LLI Rome leadership, plan and organize program events such as:
Staff & Student Orientation
Retreat/Debrief
Banquet
University Visitor Week
Oversee Rome Summer Program Student Activities & Internships
Preferred Qualifications:
Evidence of a committed and dynamic Christian faith
Strong in person, written, and online communication skills
Ability to process quickly and respond to crisis management.
Demonstrated commitment to cultural diversity and equity in the workplace.
Bachelor’s degree required; masters preferred
Prior experience working with a study abroad programs, ideally living abroad.
Direct experience working with university students.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with a highly demanding workload.
Ability to organize and prioritize work without direct supervision, and as part of a close-knit team.
Ability to collaborate with team members to identify, establish and promote best practices.
Passion for and dedication to promoting the vision, mission and values of Living and Learning.
Italian language skills preferred or willingness to learn Italian language.
