Resident Coordinator

Qualifications 

  • Emotionally mature Christ-follower

  • 1 to 2 years of Student or Resident Life experience 

  • Capacity to operate in group settings for long periods of time

  • Comfortable with living where you work

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • At least 2 years of urban ministry or cross-cultural experience preferred

  • Proficient with Google Workspace or willing to learn

BUS Team Member

  • Attend BUS Staff meetings weekly.

  • Provide an example of a Christ-follower to students through actions, attitude, and words. 

  • Serve in a support role by providing assistance for BUS programming needs.

Disciple Students 

  • Be available, approachable, and encourage students’ behavior, attitude, actions and words.

  • Mediate challenges and conflicts among students, in collaboration with the Program Director.

  • Respond to issues that violate or could potentially violate the Living Above Reproach contract.

  • Report any violations to the Program Director within 24 hours of any incident.  

  • Plan and lead intentional regular discipleship small group and individual meetings with students. 

  • Come alongside students as they integrate what they are learning in Baltimore into their lives. 

  • Partner with staff and faculty to provide spiritual and academic counsel as a support for students. 

  • Budget for discipleship meetings, and provide financial reports to the Program Director.

Point Person for Student Needs 

  • Live on campus alongside students. Resident Coordinators have their own private room and office space. 

  • Maintain awareness of the semester calendar and weekly schedule of students. 

  • Report maintenance needs to the Campus Coordinator and help maintain campus cleanliness. 

  • Complete check-in & check-out processes, including inventory and incident reports. 

  • Act as a point person for Crisis Management issues and health concerns.

  • Help stock and maintain prevention supplies (first-aid kits) with the Campus Coordinator.

Coordinate Student Activities 

  • Initiate the planning of activities that will foster a healthy community and belonging for students. 

  • Coordinate weekend activities, including, fun events, food shopping, and Sunday worship.

Compensation:

  • Housing (10 months)

  • Program meals

  • Participate in program activities and trips

  • Stipend ($3,500 per semester)

Resident Coordinators (RC) will personally fundraise $7,000 for the Academic Year 2024/2025.

BUS will provide housing, program meals, and program activities/trips.
