Who You Are

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Christ follower with at least three years of student life experience to join our team. This individual must have a strong commitment to discipleship, a heart for serving others, and a desire to invest in the growth of students.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is eager to make a long-term impact in the lives of students, willing to relocate to Quito, Ecuador, for a minimum of three years. This role requires someone who is enthusiastic about building relationships, mentoring, and coaching students through their abroad experience.

As part of our team, you will be responsible for leading student life initiatives, discipling students, and more. The ability to communicate and connect with students from diverse backgrounds is important.

The Role

Oversee student life training and operations

  • Train new RCs on protocol, position duties and expectations, including the creation and execution of RC training, manuals, and other training materials

  • Meet regularly, manage, supervise, & perform ongoing training with RCs on a weekly basis, both as a staff and individually; lead student life meetings

  • Supervise RCs in student activity planning, execution and attendance

  • Provide specific training to RCs and student life staff, particularly related to case studies, topics awareness, and attending/listening/asking question(s) skills

  • Provide job performance reviews to RCs

  • Act as a liaison and reference for the Program Director in handling discipline and/or other student life matters

  • Aid in the administration of student life’s response(s) to student needs, educate and help in providing health information, prevention and treatments alongside medical personnel

  • Train RCs on health protocols, clinic appointments, pharmacy prescriptions and over-the-counter medications that students’ health records provide; attend first clinic/hospital visits

  • Walk through and communicate throughout the application and hiring process of new RCs, alongside the Program Director

  • Speak into students’ lives and listen with a holistic development perspective

  • Budget and account for all funds given for student activities and provide a financial report to the Program Director at the end of the month

  • Coach RCs in handling minor discipline issues related to apartment living, such as curfew, house night attendance and chores

  • Budget and account for all funds given for discipleship meetings

  • Assure the clean, healthy, and safe living environment prior to students’ arrival & post students’ departure, including overseeing inventory and hand-offs, check-in, and check-out

  • Manage all phone chips and program phones and ensure that all students have access to a working phone at all times in the semester, in conjunction with RCs

  • Ensure that all apartment maintenance is attended to in a timely manner and coordinate delivery of maintenance tasks by maintenance providers

  • Manage delivery of semester long projects, such as the student photobooks, bookmarks and photo drive

  • Oversee Ecuador Summer Program including Student Activities, Internships and Homestays

  • Plan and attend L&LI staff meetings weekly and YouthWorld meetings biweekly

  • Coordinate the schedule and logistics for Visitor Week; communicate with Visitors about their questions and needs; attend and/or assign staff led activities
